Rapid Prototyping: From Insight to a Better Start for Nurses

With a clear understanding of the start-of-care bottleneck, we moved into a focused, sprint-based prototyping process. Each sprint was designed to rapidly test our riskiest assumptions and shape a solution grounded in both technical feasibility and the real needs of home healthcare professionals. Our goal was to envision a better start-of-care experience, one that truly served those on the front lines.

An AI Assistant for Nurses

Through this iterative process, we gained critical insights into where automation could deliver the most significant impact and, equally important, where the irreplaceable judgment of the nurse remained paramount. This led us to shape a concept that wasn't about replacing the nurse but about intelligently augmenting their work.

From Hours to Minutes

Our early prototypes quickly demonstrated the art of the possible: complex referral packets could be parsed in mere seconds, key patient information could be surfaced with clarity and precision, and initial documentation drafts could be generated instantly, ready for the nurse's review and refinement. We also saw the potential to significantly reduce upstream errors, preventing the costly and time-consuming rework that plagued existing processes.

Early Signals of Product Market Fit

Crucially, throughout this rapid prototyping and validation, the response from nurses was overwhelmingly positive. They immediately recognized how this tool could directly address their pain points, offering the promise of significant time savings, a reduction in burnout, and the ability to refocus their energy on what truly mattered: providing exceptional patient care. Their excitement wasn't just encouraging—it was a powerful validation that we were on the right track, building a solution that truly met a critical need.
